A surprisingly substantial cultural complex for a town this size: the Champney Treasure House combines the local Beverley Museum, the Beverley Art Gallery (with a strong collection of work by Frederick William Elwell, who lived and painted in the town), the East Riding Archives, and a roof viewing terrace with a clear panorama over the Minster, St Mary's, and the rooftops in between.
Free to enter, and one of the best places in the town to make sense of how Beverley came to look the way it does. Worth half an hour to an hour.
