Beverley's sights cluster within a few hundred metres of each other, and the town is best taken on foot. Start at the Minster, walk north along Highgate and through the Saturday Market square, out through the North Bar to the Westwood common, and you will have covered most of what makes the town worth a visit. Set aside time for the two great churches — both reward unhurried looking — and leave a half hour for the small but characterful Champney Treasure House museum.
