Montpellier Quarter

The Montpellier Quarter, a few minutes' walk south of the town centre, is a cluster of independent shops, bars, delis, and galleries around Montpellier Hill and Parliament Street. The Victorian and Edwardian buildings have been well-maintained and the area has a slightly bohemian feel that contrasts with the more formal town centre. There are good wine bars here, a couple of independent coffee shops worth seeking out, and a deli or two stocking local Yorkshire produce.

On summer evenings the outdoor seating spills onto the pavements. It is the most pleasant part of Harrogate to wander in the early evening before or after dinner.
