Harrogate eats well for a town its size. The conference trade keeps standards high and variety broad — the town has a disproportionate number of good restaurants for somewhere this small. Betty's Tea Rooms is the famous name, but the wider scene has developed considerably in recent years, with a cluster of good independent places along Cheltenham Crescent, Montpellier Quarter, and around the town centre.
