Harrogate's bar scene is concentrated in the Montpellier Quarter around Montpellier Hill and in the streets around Parliament Street. Hales Bar on Crescent Road is the famous Victorian gin palace; the newer independent bars cluster nearby. The town closes relatively early by city standards — this is Yorkshire, not Leeds — but there is enough variety for a good evening.
