Kart racing at a wartime RAF aerodrome west of Banff

Address Boyndlie Aerodrome, near Banff AB43

The Grampian Kart Club holds regular race meetings at Boyndlie Aerodrome, 3 miles west of Banff on the B9031. The aerodrome was a wartime RAF base used by the Banff Strike Wing, which flew anti-shipping operations over the North Sea in 1944–45; the runways now serve as a kart circuit.

Check the Grampian Kart Club website for race meeting dates before making the trip — the circuit isn't open daily. The airfield setting gives it more atmosphere than the average tarmac track.
