Crieff's café culture reflects the town itself: unpretentious, friendly, and better than the setting might suggest to a first-time visitor. The main street has several independent cafés that serve good coffee and home baking — Perthshire has a strong tradition of the latter, and the scones, tablet, and shortbread in Crieff's cafés are worth seeking out.
The town's pubs are traditional Scottish affairs, largely local in character. None of them are destination bars in the way that Edinburgh or Glasgow venues might be, but they have warmth and authenticity, and a whisky list that almost always includes Glenturret.
