Crieff has no railway station — the branch line that once served the town closed in 1964. The nearest mainline stations are Perth (about 17 miles to the east) and Gleneagles (about 8 miles to the south), both on the line between Edinburgh and Inverness. From either station, a taxi or bus completes the journey; bus services from Perth to Crieff run regularly and take around 40 minutes, operated by Stagecoach.
By car, Crieff is straightforward to reach. From Perth the A85 runs directly west into the town. From the south, the A9 motorway to Gleneagles interchange connects to the A823 into Crieff. From Edinburgh the journey is about an hour in light traffic; from Glasgow it is similar, via the M9 and A9. There is reasonable parking in the town centre and at the main attractions.
Buses from Stirling also serve Crieff, making it accessible from the central belt without a car change at Perth. Coach travel from Edinburgh or Glasgow is not especially fast but is manageable as a day trip, particularly if combined with a pre-booked distillery tour or lunch reservation.
