Getting Around

Crieff itself is a compact town and most things in the centre are within easy walking distance. The main street, Hill Street and Galvelmore Street, runs along a gentle slope; the walk up to Crieff Hydro is uphill but manageable. The Knock path starts close to the town centre.

The main attractions outside the town — Glenturret Distillery, Drummond Castle Gardens — require a car or taxi. Glenturret is about a mile west of town along the A85, walkable in good weather, though the road has limited pavement in places. Drummond Castle is three miles south, with no practical public transport option; a taxi from the town centre is the easiest approach.

Cycling is popular in the area and the surrounding roads have reasonable surfaces and moderate traffic outside peak periods. Bikes can be hired locally. For visitors without a car, a taxi account or the Glenturret shuttle (when available) covers the main needs; the distillery occasionally runs transfers from the town centre, and it is worth enquiring when booking a tour.
