Ritec Fen is a protected wetland just inland from Tenby, a very different landscape from the town's beaches, harbour, and pastel seafront. The fen is valued for wildlife and wetland habitat, giving nature-minded travellers a quieter place to look beyond the postcard coast.
It is not a manicured attraction, and conditions can be muddy or seasonal. That said, the contrast is useful: within a short distance of Tenby's holiday bustle you can find reeds, damp ground, birds, and the slower rhythms of the Pembrokeshire lowlands.
