St. Lawrence Gap — Bars and Nightlife

The Gap concentrates most of Christ Church's nightlife into a single walkable strip. The mix shifts as you move along it: the beachfront end has open-air bars with sand floors and live bands playing reggae and soca for mixed crowds; the road section through the middle has livelier clubs with DJs; the quieter end has wine bars and more sedate cocktail lounges.

Most places are open seven nights a week during peak season and scale back out of season. Things rarely get started before 9pm and peak around midnight. The unofficial anchor of Gap nightlife is McBride's Irish Bar, a rum-stained institution that has been running long enough to be genuinely local despite its name. Harbour Lights — on the beach just west of the Gap — runs weekly beach parties with live entertainment.

No cover charge at most venues. Dress is casual but not beachwear after 9pm.
