Christ Church follows the island-wide pattern described on the Barbados page, but a few local events are worth building a trip around.
The Oistins Fish Festival is held at Easter — four days of fish-cutting competitions, boat races, and live music on the Oistins beachfront. It draws big crowds, especially on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, but is one of the most authentic local festivals on the island.
The Crop Over Festival (July to early August) culminates on Grand Kadooment Day with a costumed street parade and daylong fete. St. Lawrence Gap becomes one enormous party in the days leading up to it.
Outside festival season, December to April is peak sun and low humidity. May and June offer quieter beaches and lower prices with weather still reliably good. The south coast beaches are calmer than the east coast year-round, even during hurricane season.
