A small community-owned ski hill about thirty-five kilometres west of Terrace, with one double chair, a couple of T-bars, and a reputation for some of the deepest snow on the continent — averages around twelve metres a season. The lifts only access a fraction of the terrain; the real draw is the backcountry skiing off the ridge above.
The hill operates Friday through Sunday in winter (typically December through early April) and is run as a not-for-profit co-op by local skiers, who bought it from its previous corporate owners in 2011. Lift tickets are cheap by BC standards. Bring chains for the access road.
