Davison Orchards is a working fruit farm about 5 km west of central Vernon that has become one of the area's most popular visitor attractions. The farm grows apples, peaches, cherries, apricots, and pears across 75 acres, and in harvest season (July through October) you can pick your own fruit or buy fresh produce from the farm stand. The apple cider — pressed on site — is excellent.
Beyond the fruit, the farm has a good deli and bakery serving pies, preserves, and sandwiches, a small petting farm popular with families, and wagon rides through the orchards in season. It functions something like a living museum of Okanagan agriculture, showing visitors how the fruit industry that built the valley actually works. Go in late September during the apple harvest for the full experience.
