Polson Park is Vernon's central park, a large green space just north of the downtown core along 25th Avenue. The park is best known for its floral clock — a working clock face laid out in bedding plants that is replanted each spring — along with ornamental gardens, a bandshell for summer concerts, and large deciduous trees that make it a good spot to sit on a hot afternoon.
The park has a wading pool and playground area used by families in summer. In the evenings, locals walk the paths and dogs run loose in the off-leash area. Not a destination in itself but a pleasant place to spend an hour, and it gives you a sense of Vernon as a town that actually uses its public spaces.
