Whistler Mountain Bike Park

The Whistler Mountain Bike Park runs on the same mountain infrastructure as the ski resort, using the gondola and chairs to carry riders and their bikes to the top and then turning them loose on more than 80 trails covering 4,900 acres. The terrain ranges from gentle cross-country tracks to the fearsome A-Line jump trail and the technical lines of the Garbanzo zone. It is genuinely one of the finest lift-accessed bike parks in the world.

The park operates from late May to October, weather permitting. Bike rentals and lessons are available in the village, and the standard of teaching is high — Whistler has churned out some of the best downhill riders on the planet and the coaching reflects that. If you've never tried gravity mountain biking, this is an excellent place to learn; if you're already experienced, this is a place to test your limits.

A story
Whistler's bike park helped establish lift-accessed mountain biking as a mainstream summer activity for ski resorts worldwide. The Crankworx festival, now the largest mountain bike festival in the world, was born here in 2004 and draws tens of thousands of spectators and riders every August.
