The Lakeside Park Carousel is a cheerful survivor in Port Dalhousie, set near the beach and harbour at the north end of St. Catharines. Its carved animals and old amusement-park feel make it more memorable than its small size suggests.
It is best folded into a lakeside walk rather than treated as a destination on its own. Families will like it most, but even adults get a quick hit of local nostalgia and Lake Ontario summer atmosphere.
