The Bayfront, also called Dame Eugenia Charles Boulevard, is the long waterfront strip that runs along the western edge of central Roseau. The promenade was rebuilt after Hurricane Maria with a new sea wall, low railings, palms, and a row of benches looking out across the Caribbean — a pleasant 15-minute walk that takes in the Cruise Berth, the Dominica Museum, the Old Market and Fort Young.
Sunset is the best time. Local craft vendors set up tables along the railing when cruise ships are in port; otherwise the boulevard is largely the preserve of joggers, lovers, and elderly Dominicans on their evening constitutional.
