Eating Out

Roseau's food is Caribbean home cooking with a few French and Kalinago accents: callaloo soup, stewed goat with provisions (yam, dasheen, breadfruit), fish broth, roti, and an abundance of fresh fruit. The town has a respectable handful of mid-range restaurants — most clustered between the waterfront and Fort Young — plus a busy lunchtime trade in canteens and food trucks aimed at office workers. Vegetarians are well served by the island's Rastafarian "ital" tradition.
