Roseau has no real malls and is the better for it. The Saturday morning market at the mouth of the Roseau river is one of the best in the eastern Caribbean — provisions, bay leaves, vanilla pods, hot sauce, baskets woven by Kalinago craftspeople. Cork Street and King George V Street have small craft shops; the Old Market Plaza hosts a daily handicraft fair aimed at cruise passengers. Duty-free shops near the cruise berth sell rum, perfume, and Dominica's local cocoa and coffee.
