Nuuk is small enough to walk between most sights. The old colonial quarter, Katuaq, and the main shopping and government areas are all within a 15-minute walk of the city centre. Taxis are available and inexpensive by Greenlandic standards; ride-sharing apps do not operate here.
There are no roads connecting Nuuk to other towns — Greenland has no inter-city road network. Getting to other parts of the country means taking an Air Greenland flight or (in some cases) a boat along the coast. The Nuuk fjord system is navigated by small boats operated by tour companies and by the government ferry service that connects remote settlements.
