Nuuk Cathedral — officially the Church of Our Saviour — is a distinctive red wooden church built in 1849 that sits in the colonial quarter above the old harbour. The building is modest in scale but occupies a prominent position in the landscape of old Nuuk. Services are conducted in Greenlandic, reflecting the Lutheran church's historical role as an Inuit-language institution.
The interior is simple — whitewashed walls, wooden pews, and a decorated altar. The churchyard contains graves from the colonial period. The cathedral is often open during the day; check the noticeboard for service times. Photography is permitted.
