The Harbour Street Craft Market, just west of Sam Sharpe Square, is a maze of small stalls under tin roofing selling wood carvings, T-shirts, beads, basketry, rum, Bob Marley everything, and a great deal else of varying quality. The vendors are friendly, persistent, and willing to bargain — assume the first price is twice what you should pay.
Among the touristic clutter there is genuine craft: hand-carved zemis, larger wooden bowls, batik fabrics. Bring small notes and a willingness to engage. Mornings are best.
