The Parque Principal is Bacalar's central square, a shady pause between the fort, restaurants, and streets leading toward the lagoon. It is not a grand plaza, but it is where the town feels most like a town rather than a swim stop.
Use it for orientation, evening snacks, and a break from the sun. The fort is just beside it, so the two sights naturally fit together.
