Eating Out

Juárez has a distinctive border food culture — northern Mexican cooking at its most direct. Carne asada, burritos stuffed with red chile colorado, and bowls of menudo on Sunday mornings are what the locals eat. The municipal market downtown has cheap, reliable food stalls. Avenida López Mateos and the Pronaf zone have sit-down restaurants running from taquerias to steakhouses. Expect generous portions and low prices by any standard.
