Miramar Beach

Miramar beach at Bacochibampo Bay is the most accessible beach from Guaymas proper — a broad crescent of sand on a sheltered inlet framed by black volcanic rock formations and distant mountains. The water is calm and warm from spring through autumn, making it popular with families and a reliable swimming spot. The bay's sheltered position means it rarely gets the surf that makes some Sea of Cortez beaches difficult for young children.

The beach has basic services — palapa shades, vendors selling fresh coconuts and seafood — and gets busy on summer weekends when Guaymas families come to escape the heat. The pearl farm at the bay is an added curiosity for visitors who want to learn about the local oyster aquaculture industry. Bacochibampo is also the starting point for some of the short hiking trails into the surrounding volcanic hills.
