La Paz is a city of water-facing routines: walk the malecón, eat seafood, take a boat toward Espíritu Santo, and plan at least one beach day north of town. The centre has enough museums and plazas for a gentle half day, but the Gulf is the main attraction.
Wildlife trips are seasonal. Whale sharks usually draw visitors in the cooler months, while sea lion and snorkelling trips around Espíritu Santo depend on permits, sea conditions, and conservation rules.
