Playa Puerto Angelito is a small, calm bay adjacent to Carrizalillo, separated from it by a rocky outcrop. The water is clear and sheltered, making it one of the safest swimming beaches near the town centre. Snorkelling is good along the rocks — the underwater visibility is better here than at the more exposed beaches, and small fish are plentiful.
The beach is reached by a set of steps leading down from the road above, or by boat from the main pier. It is smaller and busier than Carrizalillo, with more vendors and water sports equipment for rent. A few palapas sell drinks and simple seafood. The two bays are close enough that you can walk along the rocks between them at low tide.
