Parque Tomas Garrido Canabal is Villahermosa's main urban park, spread around lagoon water and linked in practice with the city's museum-and-recreation zone. It is where the city opens out: paths, shade, viewpoints, public art, and the everyday scene of families taking the air.
Most travellers come nearby for Parque-Museo La Venta, but the wider park is worth adding before or after the museum. It gives Villahermosa a softer edge and makes the Tabasco heat a little easier to handle, especially early or late in the day.
