Wilhelmina Park

Wilhelmina Park is a small public park at the tip of Punda, shaded by old trees and looking out over the harbour entrance where cruise ships and container vessels pass through. There is a statue of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands — not the most exciting piece of public art — but the park itself is a pleasant place to sit in the shade and watch the harbour traffic.

In the evenings, locals gather here and it becomes one of the more sociable spots in the historic centre, away from the tourist bars. The waterfront promenade continues along from the park toward Fort Amsterdam.
