Las Cascadas Water Park

Las Cascadas Water Park is a large family water park with a full range of slides, pools, and rides set in a landscaped site outside Aguadilla. The park is well maintained and has enough variety to keep children occupied for a full day — the slides range from gentle runs for younger kids to steep drops for teenagers. There is a wave pool, a lazy river, and areas suited to different ages and thrill tolerances.

It is a straightforward family attraction, not a place requiring much advance research — you know what a water park is, and this is a good one. It works particularly well as an option on days when the ocean swell is too strong for comfortable beach swimming, or when you are travelling with children who have exhausted their patience for historic buildings. Check the park's website for opening hours and seasonal schedule before visiting, as it operates limited hours outside peak season.

A story
Las Cascadas opened in the 1990s and for years was the only large water park in western Puerto Rico — a long drive from San Juan gave it a reliable catchment area and it became a fixture of Puerto Rican family holidays. The park's slides and wave pools follow the standard water park formula, but the setting among the hills outside Aguadilla gives it a less generic feel than a flat-site park.
