Bayamón's city hall is one of the more unusual municipal buildings in Puerto Rico — a long structure that straddles Calle Degetau, with a covered passageway running underneath. The current building dates from the 1950s and has been remodelled several times, most recently to add the bridge-like span over the street.
The structure faces the Plaza de Recreo, the heart of the old town, and is worth a look as you wander the historic centre. The interior is generally open during business hours; the upper floor sometimes hosts small exhibitions on local history and municipal art.
