Dewey

The only settlement on Culebra, officially Culebra Pueblo but always called Dewey, after a US admiral the locals never wanted to honour. A few streets along the lagoon, a single drawbridge, a handful of shops, restaurants, and rental places. You can walk it end-to-end in fifteen minutes.

The town is the ferry terminal, the centre of the island's small economy, and where almost every visitor passes through at some point. The waterfront has a couple of bars worth a sundown drink, and the small public dock is the launching point for the water taxis to Culebrita and Cayo Luis Peña.
