Nevis is small enough to drive around in under an hour, and most activity centres on its beaches, plantation inns, and the climb up Nevis Peak. The west-coast beaches — Pinney's Beach in particular — are the most accessible and swimmable.
Historical sights include the Alexander Hamilton Birthplace Museum in Charlestown, the Bath Hotel and Spring House (18th-century hot springs spa), and the atmospheric ruins of Eden Brown Estate on the Atlantic coast. The Nevis Botanical Gardens make a pleasant half-day. Diving and snorkelling are good around the southern tip of the island where coral is still healthy.
