Knoll Lake is a small, secluded trout lake on the Mogollon Rim in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, about 108 miles southeast of Flagstaff. At an elevation of 7,340 feet the air is cool even in summer, and the surrounding ponderosa pine forest makes it a welcome escape from the desert heat below.
The lake is stocked with rainbow, brown, and brook trout. There is a basic campground but no services — bring everything you need. The drive in on Forest Road 300 is slow and unpaved but scenic, following the rim with views across the Verde Valley.
