The Timber Mountain Log Ride is the oldest log flume in the western United States, opened in 1969 and dedicated by John Wayne. The ride sends you up through a mocked-up logging camp inside a wooden mountain and ends with a drop and a soaking splash. The interior animatronics — bears, miners, a hillbilly band — were refurbished in 2013 and brought back the Calico Cuckoo and other characters from the original ride.
It's one of the gentler attractions and a favourite for families. Expect to get fairly wet on a hot day; the first row takes the worst of it.
