Ventura has developed a genuine brewery culture over the last decade, with several craft operations in and around downtown producing everything from IPAs to lagers. The cafe scene along Main Street is good for a coastal California city — independent coffee shops occupy a number of the older storefronts, and the slower pace of Ventura compared to LA means you can actually sit down without fighting for a table.
