Rohr Park is one of Chula Vista's largest green spaces, a 58-acre park in the Bonita neighbourhood near Sweetwater Road. Big, mature trees shade the picnic areas, and wide grassy lawns give the park a genuine sense of space. It has a small lake, jogging paths, a disc golf course, and a popular off-leash dog area, making it a practical destination for local residents and a decent stopping point if you are passing through.
The park is significantly greener than most open spaces in this part of Southern California because of the trees planted here over decades — it feels more like a proper park than the scrubby hillside preserves elsewhere in the area.
