A handsome 500-seat performing arts theatre on First Street, opened in 2007 and the anchor of downtown Livermore's revitalisation. The Bankhead hosts the Livermore-Amador Symphony, Valley Concert Chorale, the local opera and ballet companies, plus a regular programme of touring music, theatre and comedy acts.
The building is modern but the proportions are intimate, with good sight lines and acoustics. There is a small café and a wine bar in the lobby (this being Livermore, the wine selection is largely local). Check ahead for what's on; tickets sell out for weekend shows.
