Founded in 1883 by James Concannon, an Irish immigrant from the Aran Islands, Concannon is one of the oldest continuously operating wineries in California — and the first to varietally label a Petite Sirah, in 1961. The estate sits on Tesla Road, the main artery of the Livermore Valley wine route.
The winery has a relaxed tasting room and grounds, with picnic tables under old oak trees. Tastings cover the full range of Concannon wines, with a strong showing in Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Open daily; advance booking recommended on weekends.
