A handsome Carnegie-funded library building from 1911, used as the public library until 1966 and now home to the Livermore Heritage Guild museum. The neoclassical brick building sits in Carnegie Park, a small grassy square in the older part of downtown.
The museum (open Wednesday to Sunday, free admission) covers the agricultural and ranching history of the valley, the founding families, and the wine industry's 19th-century origins. The library and park together are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
