Sunrise balloon flights over the Napa Valley are a serious tourism business, with several long-running operators flying out of Yountville. Flights typically last about an hour in the air, plus an hour either side for setup and the traditional champagne breakfast after landing.
The valley's microclimate means flights are reliable — operators report flying around 320 days a year — though late summer fog can occasionally delay launches. The view at altitude takes in the entire valley from the Mayacamas to the Vaca ranges, with vineyards stretching to both horizons. Book well in advance, particularly during harvest season (September–October).
