The Napa Valley Opera House, also called the Margrit Mondavi Theatre, is a beautifully restored 1879 Italianate theatre on Main Street. Originally a Victorian opera house and vaudeville stage, it sat dark for most of the twentieth century before a long restoration reopened it in 2003.
The 500-seat venue now hosts a varied calendar of music, comedy, dance and small-scale theatre. The Café Theatre Bar on the ground floor is a popular pre-show stop. The building is part of the larger Blue Note Napa music venue and one of the centrepieces of downtown Napa's reinvention.
