The Arroyo Seco Historic Parkway is a National Scenic Byway linking Pasadena with Downtown Los Angeles. Built as an early freeway, it follows the Arroyo Seco through a corridor of bridges, curves, and older parkway design.
It is most interesting as a short historic drive rather than a place to linger. Start near Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena and treat the route as part of a wider Pasadena or northeast Los Angeles itinerary.
