Located at the Paso Robles Municipal Airport, the Estrella Warbird Museum preserves and displays vintage military aircraft from World War II through the Vietnam era. The collection includes a P-38 Lightning, a B-25 Mitchell bomber, a Corsair, and various other airframes in varying states of restoration. Several aircraft are in flying condition and appear at airshows.
The museum is volunteer-run and the staff are typically veterans or aviation enthusiasts with detailed knowledge of the aircraft on display. The hangar setting is authentic rather than polished — this feels like a working restoration facility, not a sanitised exhibition. For anyone with an interest in aviation history, it is worth the short drive east of downtown.
