Paso Robles Pioneer Museum

A compact local history museum housed in a 1907 building a few blocks from downtown. The collection covers life in the Salinas River valley from the rancho era through the early twentieth century — saddles and spurs, farm equipment, period photographs, and a reconstructed pioneer kitchen. There is also material on the local Salinan people who lived in the region for thousands of years before European settlement.

It is a modest museum, not a world-class institution, but genuinely informative about how Paso Robles grew from a stagecoach stop and hot springs resort into the wine town it is today. Admission is low and it is volunteer-run. Open Thursday through Sunday.
