A Victorian farmhouse at 125 Glass Mountain Lane, preserved as a historic museum and the last home of Ellen G. White, co-founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. White lived here from 1900 until her death in 1915, writing much of the theological and health-reform work that shaped the modern Adventist movement. The white clapboard house, set among old elms on a quiet lane east of the Silverado Trail, retains its original furnishings, library, and personal effects.
Guided tours run on a limited schedule and are offered free by the Adventist Church. The setting — a proper Victorian farmhouse surrounded by vineyards — makes it a remarkable counterpoint to the wine-world context of the valley. An unusual and worthwhile stop for anyone interested in American religious history or 19th-century domestic life.
