Coors Field

Home of the Colorado Rockies since 1995, Coors Field is one of the prettier modern ballparks — red brick to match the LoDo warehouses, an open mountain-side concourse, and the famous purple-seat mile-high marker. Even non-fans should consider a summer-evening game just for the setting and the famously cheap rooftop bleacher tickets, where the crowd is younger and the beer selection is better than most US stadiums.

When there's no game, behind-the-scenes tours run on most non-game days (clubhouse, press box, on-field). The Sandlot Brewery inside the park (Rocky Mountain Brewing Co.) is open to ticketed game-goers and is the only brewery legally located inside a US ballpark.

A story
Look up at the upper deck — the row of purple seats running across both levels marks exactly one mile above sea level. Balls genuinely fly farther here than at sea level; Coors Field consistently leads MLB in home runs hit, which led the Rockies to install a humidor for game balls in 2002.
