Boynton Beach's strongest suit is underwater. The Gulf Stream runs unusually close to shore here — sometimes within two miles — which means warm, clear water, strong currents that carry fish, and easy drift dives on the nearby reef system. Above water, the city has a pleasant public beach, a productive inlet for fishing, and good birding at two nature reserves just inland.
