The most pleasant shopping in Fort Lauderdale is along Las Olas Boulevard, a downtown strip of gas-lit storefronts, galleries and boutiques selling clothes, antiques, and art — good for a browse even if you don't plan to buy. For bargain hunters, Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise is one of the largest outlet malls in the United States, with several hundred brand-name stores including Saks Off 5th, Neiman Marcus Last Call and Nike, along with a food court and cinema. The old-school alternative is the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop, an enormous flea market and drive-in cinema with a daily circus in the middle of the day. Just south of the airport, Dania Beach Antique Row is a block of around 150 dealers, good for mid-century American and European pieces.
